An exciting, intensive weekend at-home course which will light up your approach to your writing - whether you have started a project and are  in need of a boost  or are at the early stages of thinking and planning.

Through a combination of  writing workshops and roundtable discussions, this course will immerse you fully in all the fundamentals of a creative practice that you can then take forward and use for the rest of your writing life - and all from the comfort of your own study, kitchen or sitting room.

Your attitude to writing and reading - of your own work and that of others - is set to change!  Light up your practice, and burnish your creativity…

Welcome: Introductions and Get-Set Writing Exercises with Project Lists and Plans

SATURDAY

10 AM -12 NOON

Writing Workshop & Roundtable: Following Your Instincts, Finding Your Voice

Identifying creative themes and interests and honing a narrative style

1:30-3:30 PM

Writing Workshop & Roundtable: Overcoming Obstacles

Identifying new goals and learning how to enjoy the writing process

4-5 PM

Tutor Readings & Q&A 

Tutors share extracts from recent work and the publishing process - from first draft to press and publicity - in a lively Q&A session

SUNDAY

10 AM -12 NOON

Writing Workshop: Styling Your Prose, Energising Your Fiction

Learn to create eye-catching definitive prose that gets noticed by publishers and agents

1:30-3:30 PM

Writing Workshop & Roundtable: Writing and Editing Practice

Routines and Processes that you can take into the future to light up your writing

4-5 PM

End Of Course Celebration & Readings

A chance to relax and share your work with fellow students, and enjoy how much you’ve achieved in one weekend!
